Through a CBT based approach , I try and identify the root causes of problems and provide my patients the tools needed to help themselves achieve long term wellness. My specialties are anxiety, depression, OCD, stress and anger management, couples therapy, child therapy, addiction, chronic pain, emotional disturbance, self esteem, family conflicts and anxiety . As a fully licensed Psychologist (permit granted by the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec and the College of Psychologists of Ontario) I can issue receipts for insurance purposes.

Psychotherapist
As a family physician working in the emergency and rural clinics of Iran, Sahar has worked extensively with patients suffering from anxiety and depression in the context of chronic illnesses, obsessive compulsive disorder and trauma. Also, as part of her training to become a psychotherapist in Ontario, she provided one-on-one counselling to newcomers dealing with mood disorders and adjustment issues. Sahar applies CBT and Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy in an anti-oppressive framework using a humanistic approach. Also, Sahar has a master’s degree in psychiatry from McGill University where she conducted research on the psycho social aspects of being diagnosed with hereditary breast cancer.
