Often in any given human interaction situation there may be more going on then we can process.

This is especially true in interactions that involve conflict as our ability to see may be limited by a multitude of raw emotions and feelings that flow freely in the heat of the moment.

While our senses do the best they can to perceive and interpret objective reality , more often then not what we really perceive  just  is a subjective sub-set of what is really going on. 

All of our subsequent reactions are then based on this perception. The closer our perceptions are to what is actually going on, the more appropriate our responses  and reactions will be. 

Discussing our past perceptions to specific situations  with an objective  therapist may help provide clarify and help guide our thoughts and emotions in a positive direction.
